Material Play by Miguel Sicart 

In this talk Miguel Sicart will present the “portable” theory of play he has proposed in Play Matters (MIT Press, 2014), focusing the discussion on the notion of material play. In classic play studies, the role of materiality is often ignored. In his work on play he tries to bridge the tradition of play studies with an attention to the materiality of the contexts and instruments of play.
